Today, as more and more of them are given the license to try out ’something-that-has-never-been-done-before’, the concepts are now getting bolder than ever. Though these ideas may be limited to public structures like stadiums and pavilions currently, these are a taste of things to come.

Các kiến trúc sư Frank Gehry, Jean Nouvel, Tadao Ando và Zaha Hadid đã cùng thiết kế những công trình văn hóa cho đảo Saadiyat, nằm ngay bờ biển Abu Dhabi của các tiểu vương quốc Ả rập thống nhất.

Architects Frank Gehry, Jean Nouvel, Tadao Ando (above) and Zaha Hadid have designed cultural buildings for Saadiyat Island, which lies just off the shore of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

Trung tâm văn hóa châu Á này tiêu tốn đến 2.8 tỉ USD để xây dựng nên một quận văn hóa khổng lồ. Mục tiêu: để trở thành một trong những thành phố lớn nhất thế giới.

Công trình được thiết kế bởi: Foster + Partners, Rem Koolhaas/OMA, và Rocco Design Architects.

The Asian metropolis is spending $2.8 billion to construct an enormous cultural district. The goal: to become one of the greatest cities in the world.
